130 Photoshop actions + how to…

So lately I’ve been asked if I use Photoshop actions for my photographs or if not, what kind of digital painting and adjustments I do. To be honest I had no idea what PS actions are until about 4 months ago, and I tried doing one just to get the hang of it. It’s not that difficult.
And when comes to editing and digital painting, it depends on the mood I’m in or the image I’m trying to achieve. Everything is very spontaneous and pretty random, every photograph is done differently.
So to help out those of you that like to play around in PS, but are not a PS experts here is (in my opinion) a pretty neat collection of 130 Photoshop Actions done by various talented people.
Don’t forget to “like” Clamzee on Facebook for future awesomeness.

Instagram – the lazy Photoshop.

Insta what?….I can never remember this name… nevertheless this iphone app is quite addictive…..
I don’t always have my camera handy, and pretty often I use my iphone camera when i see something worth capturing.
The result is a phone loaded with tons of pictures that never make their way to the computer let alone turning into prints.
So here’s this photo sharing app that gives you the option to instantly layer/add filter to your iphone photos and share with your followers. And the 16 filters they have are pretty cool, and the thing is you don’t have to deal with photoshop if you don’t want to.
Although for me Photoshop is irreplaceable, I gave this app a try.
Here are some of my creations:

Not bad, right? If you have an iphone, give it a try…it’s free:)

Spring remodeling

What a beautiful spring it is outside. Or should I say it was, it already feels like summer here in Southern California with temperatures over 80 F. I got inspired and started a little remodeling at home. I realized we are in need of a console table, so here my search began. As I couldn’t find anything that I like for less than $300 (ouch!) , I decided I’m not buying one…. I will make one myself. Never did it before but let see what happens. If it turns out to be a decent console I will share some photos.
Here is what inspired me this month.

Sinking into fog

Better later than never! Happy LOVE day! I have to mention it has been the best Valentine’s day for me so far. Since this is also me and my husbands wedding anniversary we took off for a romantic weekend gateway in San Francisco. And of course I didn’t leave my camera behind. This are just 2 of the ~hundred photos I took there. I’ve also started working on a new lifestyle photography website of mine about 2 months ago and I’m taking advantage of my day off today (yay!)to (hopefully) finish it.
So long for now!

Interior design and pinterest

Photographers have a soft spot for beauty in their surroundings, from the play of light and color to where they put their head down to sleep each night. I’m drawn to the sensual curves, the clean edges, the inventive function, the crisp minimalism of contemporary interior design.
Here is a new place where you can see what inspires me on a daily basis, not only as a photographer but also as a interior designer to be MY PINTEREST. I’m adding few hand picked items from my collections here.

Cupcake obsession

First of all Happy New Year! May the New year be more wise, inspiring and successful to all of us! Year full of enthusiasm and great promises. And right here I would like to quote Oprah Winfrey : “Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.” Nicely said:)
Anyway back to the point, I’ve been slightly obsessed with cupcakes lately :D ….. to the point that I researched the best cupcake bakeries around and made a list of all I want to try .The first place I end up going to was “La Provence” cafe in Beverly Hills. And what can I say…..I have never tried any sweet goodness as awesome as their cupcakes and french macaroons. Believe it or not that was the first time I ever tried French macaroons and…. I can’t compare it to anything else….yeah it was that good. Now the thing is how do I figure how to make those myself, considering I’m not a very good cook, and by that I mean I suck at cooking lol.
And yes, you guessed it….I had to express all this in a photograph

I mentioned this on my personal Facebook page, but not here…. I was very fortunate to be contacted by an editor over at Lucky magazine regarding a feature of one of my photographs. I will use the moment and show you my latest photography works.

And I am having a sale at my Etsy shop until January 4 2011, so take advantage and save 20% of all my regularly priced prints. Just apply Coupon code: XMAS20 upon checkout:)

California Hot Rods

I can’t even tell classic cars apart but I don’t mind having one, in fact if I happen to get really wealthy one day, a beautiful oldie is something I would exchange my current car for :) Recently I went to a hot rod show where hundreds of pre 1985 antique, classic and hot rod automobiles were parked on 2nd street along the Coast in Long Beach, CA. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed all afternoon of shooting fantastic vehicles and eating frogurt. See for yourself:)

Do you like Halloween?

Do you celebrate Halloween! And if so do you always dress up in crazy costumes? I do like Halloween but if I don’t have a party plans I don’t necessarily put on a costume. Here are few t-shirt ideas you can use for the upcoming spooky day. My personal favorite is the zombEE design, I came up with this idea last year and it’s been very popular the whole year. Which one do you like the best?

Ring size chart

I’m posting this for everyone who is wondering how to find out their ring size without a ring sizer. As I also make jewelry rings, I’ve had customers ask me how to measure their ring size. Here is the simplest, in my opinion, method.
You can cut a thin stripe of paper, wrap it around your finger, mark the paper where it meets and then measure it with a ruler. Then you can compare it to the chart of ring sizes below:

Off duty

103……. That’s the temperature my car read today!  Needless to say it’s hot as hell and as much as I try to live green i keep the AC on pretty much 24/7 these days.  Going to the beach is an option just on the weekends as you can guess.

As I mentioned before I study Interior Design and projects never end for me. It’s only second week in fall semester and we already have a bunch of projects and presentations to do.  In fact I have 6 illustrations due tomorrow and I’m only half way trough…..gulp….. I will keep it short and will show you 2 of my latest photography pieces. As I’m hooked on vintage stuff lately I decided to try a new technique, which is supposed to be a photography technique Ttv but I simulated it in PS. Ttv is the abbreviation for “Trough the viewfinder” and initially is to be done with a camera shooting the viewfinder of a second camera. Pretty interesting i think and can’t wait to try it. This is what i got with manipulation of a regular photograph in PS ( the beach photo).

Clamzee’s plastic surgery

To those of you that noticed the lack of blog posts on Clamzee.com for quite some time, i want to say: Thank you for your patience and for checking back. Now Clamzee is back with complete new design and layout. I was going for more simplicity and professional look after it came to me that the busy look does not work for Clamzee. The logo is completely transformed as well. I hope the sleepless time I invested was worthed and the better impact of the website was achieved. There are few things I’m still working on and testing, but they are slowly coming along.
In the mean time I’m bringing more fresh photographs, that I really enjoyed taking and editing. Take a look.

The sterling silver jewelry collection is here!

It’s been a little while since my last post and I apologize to everyone who is following my blog for not being around the last month or so. I have to make at least 2 projects every week for school as I’m studying Interior design at the moment. And the last week I had 2 midterms as well. So all the jewelry projects I had in mind (and they are a lot:) had to wait. And now I’m back with some new interesting stuff. As I promised I have now nice handmade sterling silver jewelry. The following Necklaces are available only on my etsy shop for now.
